Now Available: 2017 State & County Uninsured Tables, with Comparison Year 2016

SHADAC has produced tables of state and county uninsurance estimates for 2017 and comparison year 2016. These estimates come from the 2017 American Community Survey (ACS) via the U.S. Census Bureau's American FactFinder (AFF) tool and were released on September 13, 2018.
SHADAC's tables provide uninsured rates by characteristics (e.g., age, race/ethnicity, and poverty level) for both 2017 and comparison year 2016 for each state (and the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico) and for all counties within each state that have a population greater than 65,000. The tables are available via clickable map here.

SHADAC has created the following 50-state comparison tables (with maps) in addition to the state and county uninsured tables:

Census Bureau Experts Will Discuss New 2017 Estimates during September 18th Webinar
On Tuesday, September 18th, SHADAC will host a webinar to examine the new 2017 ACS and CPS estimates, with technical insight provided by researchers from SHADAC and from the U.S. Census Bureau, which administers both surveys.
Speakers will discuss the new national and state estimates, and attendees will learn:
- When to use which estimates from which survey
- How to access the estimates via Census reports and American FactFinder
- How to access state-level estimates from the ACS using SHADAC tables
Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions after the speaker presentations.
