Event Summary
This webinar presented findings from SHADAC’s multi-year Study of the Impact of Implementation of the ACA in Kentucky. Through the project, funded by the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky, SHADAC monitored pre- and post-ACA trends in five domains:
- Health insurance coverage
- Access
- Costs
- Quality
- Health outcomes
SHADAC researcher Colin Planalp discussed key findings of the study, such as significant declines in uninsurance, as well as early evidence of reduced financial barriers and improved access to care.
Gabriela Alcalde, Vice President of Policy & Program at the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky, discussed why the Foundation commissioned the study and the role it has played in Kentucky’s evolving health policy landscape.
Attendees had an opportunity to ask questions after the presentation.
We encourage you to view reports from the study, including the “Final Report: Study of the Impact of the ACA Implementation in Kentucky.”
