Evaluating the Impact of the Affordable Care Act on State Medicaid Program Provision of Tobacco Dependence Treatments (December 2016)

The goal of the study is to determine the impact of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in expanding coverage and access to tobacco dependence treatment for Medicaid enrollees. The researchers will use data the UC San Diego 2017 State Medicaid Survey on Treating Tobacco Use and Dependence, which will collect data from each state Medicaid program to evaluate the extent to which the ACA has created differential benefit designs for tobacco dependence treatment among Medicaid enrollees in expanded and traditional Medicaid programs.
