The SHARE webinar "Using Income Tax Information to Target Medicaid and CHIP Outreach," is now available for viewing.
The event was broadcast on February 24th and features presentations by David Idala, Director of Medicaid Policy Studies at The Hilltop Institute (University of Maryland, Baltimore County) and Brenda Freshour-Johnston, Outreach Coordinator at the Iowa Department of Human Services. The presenters discuss the use of state tax data in Maryland and Iowa, respectively, to more effectively target outreach and enrollment efforts for public insurance programs. Only three states have used this strategy so far, and these are the first available findings on the implementation and impact of such initiatives.
