September 8, 2009. SHADAC has released a new issue brief titled, "An Introduction to the American Community Survey Health Insurance Coverage Estimates." This brief describes the American Community Survey (ACS) and provides information on the health insurance coverage estimates to be released for the first time later this month. The ACS is conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau to provide communities with up-to-date information on key demographics and policy-relevant data. An important feature of the ACS is that it will include a large enough sample for state-level and sub-state health insurance coverage estimates.
