Using the National Health Interview Survey to Evaluate State Health Reform - Findings from New York and Massachusetts
Wednesday, September 1st
12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. (EDT)
Sharon Long, Senior Economist at SHADAC, will present findings from her research using the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) to evaluate state health reform in New York and Massachusetts, looking at the impact of reform on health insurance coverage and on health care access and utilization. This analysis will facilitate an exploration of the feasibility of using national survey data to examine the impacts of health reform in individual states, given issues such as small sample sizes and delays in data availability.
Audrey Gasteier, Director of Health Systems Policy and the Massachusetts Division of Health Care Finance and Policy, will serve as the respondent to Dr. Long’s presentation.
