January 4, 2011: The February 2011 SHARE-sponsored special issue of Health Services Research (HSR) is now available online.
This special issue includes eight articles that present and analyze findings from the first round of SHARE-funded research. The articles focus on state-level coverage expansion initiatives and cover such topics as dependent coverage expansions; small-group insurance reform; and outreach, enrollment, and retention in public insurance programs. The special issue highlights the relevance of these first-round findings to federal reform under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which incorporates several coverage expansion strategies pioneered at the state level and under which states are likely to continue to play a significant role in providing health insurance coverage.
