Lynn Blewett: Health Security Index Shows Stable Consumer Confidence

September 13, 2010

September 13, 2010: For the past 18 months SHADAC has worked with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to produce the Health Care Consumer Confidence Index, a monthly measure of consumer experiences with and concerns about the health care system.  Results over this timeframe show that Americans' views on health care have remained relatively stable.

In a recent University of Minnesota School of Public Health interview about the Index, SHADAC Director Lynn Blewett observed, " Americans have actually been remarkably even-keeled in their attitude towards the health care system." She added, "Even with the turmoil of debate and all of the discussion we saw leading up to health care reform, Americans are pretty confident with the health care system."
