SHADAC Director Lynn Blewett was interviewed by "Health Talk," a publication of the University of Minnesota's Academic Health Center, for an article about a former University of Minnesota student with a preexisting condition who has been able to remain on her parent's coverage due to the ACA.
In the article, Dr. Blewett explains the provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) that benefit young adults--specifically, the provision expanding dependent coverage eligibility up to age 26 and the rule that insurance companies cannot deny coverage due to preexisting conditions as young adults transition to their own coverage on the individual market.
