CMS Announces $665 Million in Round Two SIM Awards

December 17, 2014: The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced the Round Two State Innovation Models (SIM) Initiative awards

The awards, which exceed $665 million, will provide financial and technical assistance over four years to 28 states, three territories, and the District of Columbia, to support the design and testing of innovative health care payment and service delivery models.  The goal of the initiative is to improve health system performance, increase quality of care, and decrease costs for beneficiaries of Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP.

Including the six SIM Round One Model Test states, there are now 38 total SIM awardees.  States receiving Round Two awards, along with funding amounts, are listed below.
