SHADAC has implemented several enhancements to its Data Center online table generator and hosted this webinar to discuss the changes.
In this webinar SHADAC Senior Research Fellow Joanna Turner discussed and demonstrated the changes to the Data Center, and described the new health insurance unit (HIU) and how this is applied to the estimates available in the Data Center. SHADAC experts responded to participants’ questions and discuss applications of the new HIU.
Major revisions to the Data Center include:
- Addition of the 2010 American Community Survey estimates.
- Revisions to all data sources to include calculation of health insurance coverage by family unit and poverty (the health insurance unit).
- Modification of the universe for the ACS tabulations to include non-civilian populations.
- New state summary tables that allow users to generate a table of selected states for any available population group.
These changes are now live on SHADAC’s Data Center and are described in detail at this link. The HIU is described in our new brief, "Defining Family for Studies of Health Insurance Coverage."
