Study of the Impact of the ACA Implementation in Kentucky

SHADAC is conducting a mixed-methods study under contract with the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky that will examine how the ACA has been implemented in Kentucky and outcomes of the state’s health reform efforts. The impact study uses data from a telephone survey, focus groups, and federal surveys and state administrative data to evaluate Kentucky’s performance in five domains: coverage, access, cost, quality, and health outcomes. In addition to examining changes within the state over time, selected Kentucky metrics are compared to the U.S. as a whole and to other states.

The results of this study will inform ongoing decision-making and support quality improvement efforts in Kentucky. The findings are synthesized so that they can also inform ongoing health reform efforts in other states and at the federal level (e.g. reports, special issue briefs, and snapshots).
