March 27, 2014: As part of its National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) Early Release Program, the National Center for Health Statistics issued early release estimates of health insurance coverage for January through September 2014 from the NHIS.

NCHS researchers report that the percentage of nonelderly adults (18-64 years old) who were uninsured at the time of the interview dropped from 20.4 percent in 2013 to 16.7 percent in the first nine months of 2014.
